Turning a year older

Hi, it’s been a while.

Before this year started, I wrote a new year welcome and a year-end thing for 2019 on my Tumblr — it was full of hope, and I believe most of us felt the same way before the Pandemic.

I created a simple 2020 quarterly plan for my long and short-term goals to organize my adulting life. Though I tried to follow the timeline, COVID happened and slapped us all.

Amid the Pandemic, I still pushed through with one of my plans: to start a trucking business. Was it a good decision? No, haha! Truth be told, managing it was challenging and physical!

Also, balancing my full-time work and my existing business with this trucking was a massive pain in the aSs. I am still in the middle of smoothing out and learning the whole process, and surviving it during the lockdown made it more hell-like. I am a total newbie, but every day is an opportunity to learn and improve, right? :<. Huhu pats me on the back. Kidding aside, there’s no turning back; I must strive even more.

The first quarter of 2020 has been cruel to the world – but I know we can start again. Sharing here the quote I live by, “Beautiful and terrible things will happen, don’t be afraid.” This reminds us that good and bad things happen, and we must be tougher because the world is never easy — so be brave.

I turned a year older last month. Before that, I stayed at my grandma’s house for several weeks because I felt like I needed a new environment after residing for a long time in the apartment.

I am glad I made this decision — somehow, I found my inner peace again. My Lola’s smile made my stay there even more peaceful and happier — it was slow and calming. This feeling was nostalgic; it was the same simplicity of life I had as a child. It is the kind of experience you will feel more contented with, making you kinder to yourself and others. Her personality reflected in her humble home — it was genuine and full of kindness.

My birthday was simple and happy. My family, friends, and relatives celebrated with me. I received three birthday cakes and a lot of good wishes and gifts. I also got a new cat, huhu, a new mobile phone from my partner, painting materials, and a lot of good stuff from my super friends — Rona & Pat. Thank you!

I feel blessed to have such a supportive and loving family and friends. They will always be my best gift, and my only wish for my birthday is good health, happiness, and safety for me and my loved ones.

I am still hoping for the best this year for all of us.
Be brave. Be safe.

** I have no decent photos taken during my birthday, so sharing our Christmas celebration photos instead. ✌️ **
