Scuba Diving in Apo Island

I had a quick adventure in Dumaguete with my best friends, Rona and Pat. And one of the places we visited is this beautiful Apo Island — a 30-40 mins boat ride from the mainland. Apo Island is famous for snorkelling and scuba diving because of its rich and impressive marine life. The sea visibility is 10 to 40 feet, perfect for those who are into underwater photography!

Unlike in other scuba diving sites near Manila, here, we didn't need to ride a boat to go to a perfect spot for diving. We just walked from the shore until we got deeper into the water, and that's it! Because the whole island is a perfect spot for diving.

Before you scroll down, please note that this itinerary is not detailed. I am just sharing my photos and some of my stories during the trip. Thank you! (:

Staying calm under pressure

Scuba diving allowed us to dive deeper and longer, giving us more time to see and appreciate the beauty of their nature’s underwater system.

We had a short basic class on scuba diving. They also discussed the safety measures and policies they’re implementing to protect their island and marine life.

We haven’t been in the water for more than five minutes, but we’ve already encountered two beautiful green sea turtles! Such a calm and beautiful creature. 💚

Thanks to Kuya of Apo Island for taking these photos and making our quick adventure here in Apo Island safe and amooizing. Though we could not roam the whole island, it was a great experience!
